«For this year’s International Women’s Day the European Parliament will host a interparliamentary meeting on the topic of «Women Refugees and Asylum Seekers in the EU». The President of the European Parliament, Mr. Martin SCHULZ and Ms. Mary ROBINSON, former President of Ireland, will have the floor for the inauguration speeches. Moreover, there will be three workshops: the first one, organised in cooperation with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, concerns the issue of “Violence against Women Refugees and Asylum Seekers”, the second workshop will be organized in cooperation with the
European Institute for Gender Equality and regards the topic of “Gender and healthcare: the situation of refugees and asylum seekers” and the third one concerns “The integration of Women Refugees” and will have the cooperation of the European Commission. The meeting will take place in the EP premises in Brussels, from 9.00 to12.30. Furthermore, from 3 March until 1 June the temporary exhibition “Displaced: Women Refugees and Asylum Seekers in the EU” is hosted by the European Parliament`s Visitors` Centre Parlamentarium».
